The Beal College Welding program received some good news last week, passing its annual audit from the American Welding Society.
In a message to Beal faculty and administration, Chief Operating Officer Steve Villett congratulated the welding team, which includes Program Director Jesse Crosby and instructors Mike Collins and Chuck Coburn.
According to Crosby, the purpose of the audit is to ensure that the facility is operating according to American Welding Society standards.
“They do an extensive review, check that our records are all up to par and that the shop is up to AWS standards,” said Crosby. “They also make sure the process and procedure for our weld tests are being carried out within the AWS standards of operation.”
Steve Villett thanked the welding team for the work that led to the “exemplary results” of the audit.
“This is an extensive quality assurance examination of our Welding facility and staff,” Villett said in the message.
In the audit summary, observers noted that the Beal facility was “very clean and well organized.” They also commented that it was “operated by seasoned professionals with excellent knowledge of the subject matter and AWS requirements.”
According to the audit summary, the American Welding Society “can be very proud of the Beal College Accredited Test Facility and the way it represents the AWS.”
