Degree Options

At Beal, we offer three Cannabis-based programs at this time:

A.S. in Cannabis Business Administration – 20 Months*

In short, this program prepares students to manage a business. Students will learn about business principles such as accounting, marketing, finance, business law and management with a focus on the cannabis field.

A.S. in Cannabis Lab Sciences – 20 Months*

With courses that focus on biology and chemistry, overall this program will prepare students to work at cultivation and testing labs. Coursework includes sciences such as chemistry and biology, in addition to basics in cannabis extractions and concentrates, and more.

B.S. in Medicinal Plant Sciences – 34 Months*

This program will train students for entry into research and testing labs, as well as clinical health science, and cultivation. Courses include physics, chemistry, biology, interpening, in addition to basics in extractions and concentrates, and more.

Transfer Credits Accepted

Program Outcomes

As a result of taking the A.S. in Cannabis Business Administration program, students will:

  • Display both strong written and oral communication;
  • Apply current business practices, especially in the cannabis field;
  • Understand business practices, especially in the cannabis field.

If a student finishes their A.S. in Cannabis Lab Sciences, then they should:

  • Display a core understanding of both clinical chemistry and biology;
  • Have a strong understanding of both extractions and concentrates;
  • Gain a general knowledge base during Beal’s General Education courses;

Lastly, the B.S. in Medicinal Plant Sciences program will provide students with:

  • Strong understanding of both biochemistry and medicinal plant innovation;
  • Knowledge of both Cultivation and Testing;
  • Research, analytical as well as critical thinking skills

Career Options

As a result of taking the A.S. in Cannabis Business Administration program, students could seek jobs in the cannabis industry or other business field.

When a student completes the A.S. Cannabis Lab Sciences program, they will be able to use and maintain lab equipment for both cultivation and testing. Additionally they will be able to collect and analyze samples and could seek a job in a lab or related field.

The B.S. in Medicinal Plant Sciences program will prepare students for jobs in cultivation and testing labs or another related field.
