Michelle Kimball first Beal nominee for Achiever Spotlight
Last week, Michelle Kimball became the first Beal College student to be nominated for the Maine College Access Network (MaineCAN) Achiever Spotlight Awards.
The awards are divided into two categories: one for traditional students, the other for non-traditional students. Both the Traditional Achiever Spotlight and the Non-Traditional Achiever Spotlight are intended to recognize a student who has, through exceptional persistence and resilience, progressed toward meeting his or her educational goals.
The goal of the Maine College Access Network is to broadly increase access to post-secondary education opportunities. The Achiever Spotlight Awards highlight individuals who are finding success through education.
Award winners and nominators will receive notification in April. The award presentation is scheduled for May 21 at Kennebec County Community College, in Hinckley, as part of the MaineCAN Best Practices in College Access Conference.
