Practice: Building Your Skills One Bead at a Time

• Various welding processes: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
• Diverse materials: Learn to work with steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals commonly used in construction, manufacturing, and repair.
• Essential skills: From joint preparation and bead control to understanding welding codes, blueprint reading, basic rigging, fabrication basics, and safety protocols, you’ll gain a comprehensive skillset.

Rehearsal: Putting Your Skills to the Test

Just like a band wouldn’t show up to a gig unprepared, neither should a welder head to a job site without proper rehearsal. This translates to projects that simulate real-world scenarios. You’ll work on projects that:

• Challenge your abilities: Push your limits and refine your skills by tackling increasingly complex welds.
• Test your problem-solving skills: Learn to troubleshoot issues and find solutions for achieving optimal weld quality.
• Prepare you for industry standards: Practice welding to AWSD1.1 Structural, API1104 Pipeline and Related Facilities, and AMSE Section IX of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and allow time for specific testing for any job you have in mind towards the end or your course.
