Digital Maine Library Databases to power student research
The Beal College Research Guide received an update recently, to keep current with the change from Maine’s Virtual Library (known as MARVEL) to the Digital Maine Library Databases.
This guide was developed specifically to help students with research in their classes. The Digital Maine Library Databases replace – and expand upon – the MARVEL Databases.
While the guide was developed with students in mind, the databases themselves offer resources for faculty as well as students. Researchers can access over 90 databases any time of day and print out the full text of many articles.
First time users will have to register. Look for that link on the same page as the database information.
The guide also includes a link to the Beal College Book Catalog and features a few of the newest books in the Library.
The research guide also gives tips on Internet searching and information on citation styles and issues related to plagiarism.
